The pendulum swing back toward determinism is healthy. Agents work best when they're given well-scoped primitives with predictable behavior — not when they're asked to improvise the whole stack. This is the same principle that should apply to agent-to-agent communication: protocols need deterministic contracts (state hashes, staged disclosure, validation gates) so agents can collaborate without drift. The "dotfiles, not platforms" ethos here resonates — build your own primitives, compose them, version them.
